Goodman Gas Furnace Reviews
Goodman offers limited lifetime warranties on heat exchangers. Additionally, ten-year limited warranties on furnace parts. Of course, remember it is only a parts warranty. Therefore, if something goes wrong, you will have to pay labor. Additionally, the warranty is not transferable. Therefore, if you sell the house, then the warranty cannot be transferred to new buyers. High Performance HVAC always recommends you purchase the extended parts and labor warranty if available. Lastly, you must register your newly installed gas furnace within 60 days of installation to qualify for the warranty.
Energy Efficiency and Gas Furnace AFUE
Just because you spend extra money to buy a high AFUE gas furnace does not mean you will have true energy efficiency. There are many factors to getting true energy efficiency. Among these factors are:
- Proper installation of the gas furnace
- Ductwork Integrity
- Home Insulation including energy-efficient doors and windows
- Home humidity levels

Goodman CoolCloud™ and ComfortBridge™ Technology | What is It?
Godman has select models available that are compatible with CoolCloud and Comfortbridge. What are these things with weird names and how can they help you?
Goodman CoolCloud is a Bluetooth app that allows technicians the ability to communicate with equipment. This reduces the time for troubleshooting by allowing the technician to see equipment data on a mobile device. It also allows the technician to see history and previous notes from other technicians. It is all designed to reduce the time for making any repairs to the equipment.
Goodman ComfortBridge is an application installed in select Goodman systems. It stores the Goodman HVAC system performance data. It then crunches this data through special algorithms. These algorithms are designed to save energy by optimized control of the HVAC system. No specific thermostat is necessary to allow Comfortbridge to work.
From a technical perspective, these things are great. Things features have been available in the commercial HVAC market for years now. In my opinion, these features will save time and money.

*Many factors depend on ROI such as house insulation, personal usage preferences, ductwork integrity, and other essential efficiency factors. The furnace AFUE rating is a high factor in the return. |
Goodman Gas Furnace Reviews Buyers Guide
High Performance HVAC offers an HVAC consumer buyers guide on our site. The page is to help people. People that are making an expensive purchase of new HVAC equipment. We offer helpful tips that make the buying process easier for the consumer. Additionally, we also help you steer clear of nefarious contractors who take advantage of consumers. Here are a few tips from that page. Furthermore, for more helpful tips for saving money and frustration see the HVAC consumers buyers guide:
- First, some people think the brand is the most important part of buying a new HVAC system. It should be secondary to other considerations. The most important decision for buying new HVAC equipment is selecting a quality contractor.
- Some contractors use a rule of thumb or select a size to match your current system. Never fall for this and always insist on a new load calculation for your new equipment.
- Lastly, get at least three bids from different contractors that you vetted. Remember, the lowest bid is not always the best. See number one above.
The most important decision you will make in the buying process will be selecting the contractor. Therefore, the priority for you should be, “contractor over a brand.”

WE have a goodman gaspack we have had it for seven years stay away from goodman still under warranty back in march of 2018 it was early in the morning and very cold gas pack went out . next day before tech came out. it was inducer motor we were told it would be ten days before one would arrive it was coming from texas we live in sc. we are seventy years old.we had to go to hotel for aweek that was 700.00 dollars. .then back in november of 2018 went out again this time it was gas value it toof four days to get here it was in 30 degrees back to hotel again for four days . another 400.00 dollars. we are retired this is not a reliable company. stay away. and service dept. not helpful.
In the 4 years since we had our Goodman gas furnace and air conditioner we have had the service and repair people out twice. Both times it was because of the burners not lighting. The air conditioner has not had any problems, just the gas furnace. I would say other than that it does a good job of keeping our house warm even on the coldest days.

Goodman/Janitrol/Amana
Have the unfortunate experience of owning two houses 1 with the Janitrol furnace and 1 with an Amana furnace/air con unit. Both have had multiple problems with them both being so severe we are looking to get them replaced again! The Janitrol was replaced once at a discount rate through our HVAC co. because it had so many problems, it started messing up almost immediately, it led to the HVAC co. to stop dealing with any Goodman products. Now the owner has passed away and I’m stuck with two units that are not reliable in any way. We have named the Janitrol “please start” for the prayer we give every time it fires, sounds funny but when it’s cold out way up here in the north of the US it’s not. Funny how Goodman tried to say it was outside gas valves on two different units in two different locations even though they were both tested.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANIES JUNK! is the best advice I good give anyone, I know, still living through it.

Thanks for the info. My wife doesn’t want to get a goodman gas furnace because we already have a furnace, but it hardly works. She’ll probably give in when it breaks down completely because she gets cold easily.

This piece of s*** has broken 4 times in 6 months and it’s only 3.5 years old. First three times were costly (>$1000 each) for induction motor, blower motor, and A/C coil. Now it’s broken AGAIN, but repair guy hasn’t made it out here yet. Just to make sure it wasn’t a technician problem, we’ve had repair techs from different companies each time (we are running out of companies to call). Even the repair guys from different companies say it’s a piece of crap. Do not buy Goodman!
And read the fine print on their “warantee”… only good for the original owner, so if you buy the house after someone else has installed this pile of scrap metal, you are stuck!
