Coleman Package Unit Reviews | Consumer Ratings - Coleman HVAC offers a line of package units at various efficiency levels. Specifically, the types of package units offered their best ratings for efficiency come in at 16 SEER for air conditioning, 8 HSPF for their heat pump package unit, and for the gas furnace portion 81% AFUE.
Comparing Coleman to other brands, the efficiency ratings are the highest in the industry, however, Coleman does make good products so I would not rule them out when considering the purchase of a package unit unless your only consideration is high efficiency. Really, the only efficiency rating that I think is low based on what other manufacturers offer is the AFUE rating which is close to the minimum as required by the DOE. (more…)

Frigidaire Gas Furnace Reviews | Consumer Ratings - Frigidaire has several gas furnaces ranging in various levels of efficiency with various components and features.
Their top premium model is an Energy Star rated gas furnace with a 96% AFUE rating. The Frigidaire economy model gas furnace covers the gas furnace minimum efficiency rating as set by the Department of Energy for gas furnace manufacturers.
The minimum is 80% AFUE which is far better than older furnaces that got around 60% AFUE if you were lucky. Today, gas hogs have been banned from being produced so you get the now standard minimum of 80% AFUE.
Frigidaire has other models that fall in between the two stated efficiency ratings for their premium models and for the minimum rated model. (more…)

Frigidaire Package Unit Reviews | Consumer Ratings - Frigidaire has a wide range of package units in their product lineup for packaged systems. The package units range from air conditioner gas furnace combos to hybrid heat pump package systems with various efficiency levels.
Their top-of-the-line gas pack for air conditioning is 20 SEER but only 81% AFUE for the gas furnace part of the systems. Frigidaire offers another gas pack that gives you 95% AFUE but only 14 SEER for the cooling side of the system. This leaves one with serious decisions to make since you can’t get a packaged system that is ultra-efficient on both sides for heating and cooling. So how do you choose? Westinghouse Gas Furnace Reviews - Westinghouse offers several models of gas furnaces with various efficiency ratings from the minimum AFUE levels as required by the DOE up to 96% AFUE. Unlike other manufacturers, Westinghouse keeps their model line up simple with a basic single line comprising of several different models.
Westinghouse is a branded HVAC product licensed to Nortek International also know as Nordyne. Westinghouse, for HVAC products, is currently considered a legacy brand which is no longer produced by Nortek (or Nordyne).
From the minimum efficiency economy model up to the top premium model, Westinghouse gives some good options for selection of a new gas furnace. Westinghouse Package Unit Reviews | Consumer Ratings - Westinghouse offers both gas packs and heat pump package units ranging in efficiency ratings from minimum levels up to 20 SEER, 8 HSPF, and 81 AFUE for gas packs. The 20 SEER relates to the Westinghouse air conditioner portion of the gas pack while the 81 AFUE relates to the gas portion of the gas pack. Owners Specifications and Submittals Commissioning - Attention to detail is a prerequisite for commissioning. This is especially true when looking through the project specs and finding the owner’s requirements for the project and then matching the owner requirement specs to what is provided by the contractor and then documenting everything as the commissioning specifications require.
