Currently, we are working to rewrite the package unit reviews article to increase the information in that article so it may not be available. Manufacturers, including Day and Night, change their products from time to time to update them on new technology and engineering practices to increase efficiency and reliability for their products. When this happens, we rewrite the articles to match what the manufacturer offers so we do make an effort to keep things fresh and up to date.

We also have a category that matches models of different HVAC equipment from brand to brand. We match the components and feature up side by side and draw a comparison to the products. Currently, Day and Night do not have any models in the category but we are working on including them in a brand comparison article.

Day and Night is owned by the same company that owns Carrier. Carrier is a brand we all recognize and the parent company is United Technologies. This means they have a good financial backing and will likely be around tomorrow and into the future offering the latest technologies and improvements in their equipment.

HVAC Random Tip Box

HVAC Tip - A thermocouple is commonly used in standing pilot gas furnaces and water heaters are technically referred to as a copple element and produces millivolts when heat is applied to the tip. This millivoltage is necessary to keep the pilot valve inside the gas valve open. If the pilot flame goes out, the thermocouple stops generating millivolts. Without the millivolts, the valve closes thus preventing gas from escaping when there is no flame. Thermocouples fail because of oxidation. It is recommended that you keep the pilot lit throughout the year to prevent excess oxidation. The thermocouple can be found in many different types of gas furnaces, gas logs, and gas water heaters.
