Home Humidity Problems - HIGH HUMIDITY 60 % +. Within the last month, I moved into a new house. It has drywall and not plaster walls. The furnace and hot water tank were installed a week or so before we moved into the house. Last week we determined that there is a humidity issue when the windows were sweating. We are trying to determine the source of the humidity. The contractor feels it may be the high-efficiency furnace. I have a Lennox g61mp. Home Ventilation and Pressure - It is becoming increasingly necessary to have your home checked for home pressurization. Does your home have negative pressure inside of it? Do you have a gas or oil furnace which is inside the home and uses the air in the home for combustion air to fire the furnace or boiler?
Do you have other gas or oil-burning appliances, a fireplace, gas logs, or anything which consumes air inside the home? This does not refer to furnaces that are located in the attic (unless you have a completely sealed attic or the attic has a maximum height of fewer than 30 inches.)

These appliances consume air and along with some other air-consuming appliances in your home, the issue of home pressureand home ventilation comes into question especially in this day and age when the drive is on to increase efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
Homes are being built tighter with better insulation, doors, and windows. Less infiltration air is being fed into the modern homes of today so it’s important to give the home a safety check to make sure there is enough air left over for the occupants of the home.
Programming DDC Logic 2 - The analog network input is similar to an analog input except this input is not hardwired to the local controller but on a remote controller in the network. It is very important that the communication works effectively for this analog network input to work. An example of this is the outside air temperature which is hardwired to a DDC controller in the penthouse of a multistory building.
The building engineer only wants the boilers to fire if the outside air temperature is less than 55° F. Instead of having an outside air temperature device hardwired to the boiler controller an analog network input can be placed into the boiler controller program and linked to the outside air temperature reading which is in the penthouse controller where the outside air temperature thermistor is hardwired. This saves devices and wires necessary for optimum control.
Natural Gas Properties and Furnace Heating Efficiency - Natural Gas is a popular fuel used for heating systems in America and other countries. If we look at the properties of natural gas and the heating efficiency of natural gas furnaces we will see that natural gas furnaces lose efficiency because of what is contained in natural gas as it is delivered to your home for consumption by your natural gas furnace.
Natural gas in its raw form coming straight from the ground needs to be refined to remove impurities that should not be contained in natural gas. As you read below you will see that in the refining process moisture is removed from the natural gas however during the refining process some of the moisture in the natural gas remains and therefore this affects the efficiency of your natural gas furnace. Gas Furnace is Making Too Much Noise - Richard, my gas furnace makes a lot of noise when it is running and it is somewhat annoying and sometimes bothers me when I am sleeping. Jenny, sorry to hear about the noise your gas furnace is making. I know an overly noisy gas furnace can be irritating. All gas furnaces make some noise when operating and we can break it down into three different noises. HVAC Tip - You can add energy savings by placing a blanket wrap insulation around your water heaters. Additionally, for electric water heaters, you can have a timer added to the power circuit to turn the water heater off in times when there is no usage. For example: Set the timer to turn the water heater off from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Most timers can be customized and set for different times so that the water heater is turned off for most of the day and night. This, along with the insulation (which will keep the water hotter longer), can save in energy usage and your energy costs.
