My 11 year old Geocomfort ground source heat pump is absolutely JUNK. It has been a constant repair problem for the last 6 years. Currently the only function working is the Emergency Heat strips
I sympathize Tony. Our Geocomfort is 9 years old and has been a continual problem. We have replaced the compressor twice, the oil separator twice, and a couple of the control boards boards as well as other parts that I don’t even know what they are.
As we approach the end of the 10 year warrantee I am very concerned that this very expensive piece of, that you charitably call, JUNK will die and we’ll be stuck spending a lot of money to replace it.
My repair man says new Geothermal heat pumps can take a year and a half to receive.
My repair guy asked Geocomfort if they would just replace the whole thing because it had been so much trouble and they just laughed.
I hope others see these remarks and avoid being suckered.
