Lennox Air Conditioner Reviews - Consumer Ratings - About Lennox
Lennox is not known for keeping things simple and I’ve often heard from others that some of their systems are over-engineered. I know this firsthand from working with a dealer. I wouldn’t say they have a bad product though. They have had problems with certain things like other air conditioner HVAC brands but overall they produce quality products that look good, are reliable, and will keep you comfortable for many years.
As you read through any review of HVAC equipment you have to read through the review and understand that in many circumstances the installation is the core reason people have problems with any brand of HVAC equipment. This leads me back to the HVAC manufacturer and the HVAC technical training programs they offer (and sometimes require) their dealers.

Lennox Warranties
Lennox runs a little behind other HVAC manufacturers for warranties. However, Lennox makes a good quality product and as stated above, they have an extensive well-trained dealer network. This means the quality makes up the difference. That does not mean nothing will go wrong. Mechanical and electrical equipment will break down. We recommend, when purchasing premium or mid-range models, that you take advantage of the extended warranties that are available.
Furthermore, if they have labor warranties take advantage of those also. Some of the happiest customers I have encountered were ones who purchase the full warranty packages (if available) for parts and labor. Lastly, it means less stress and less out-of-pocket expense if something goes wrong.

Lennox Air Conditioner Reviews - Consumer Ratings
DO NOT BUY LENNOX RESIDENTIAL PRODUCTS. My four year old air conditioner under 10 year warranty will cost me over one thousand dollars OUT OF POCKET to repair.
Calling Lennox customer service and consumer affairs departments is a total waste of time. I do not wish for anyone else to spend thousands of dollars on Lennox products that Lennox Industries does not stand behind.
I repeat, Buyer Beware……DO NOT PURCHASE LENNOX RESIDENTIAL PRODUCTS!
Purchased Lennox Bronze Plus Full System 3-Ton 16ACX &EL180 Single Stage 80% on February 18th, 2022 . Installer has had to come out 3 times to get A/C to work, only blows warm air. Installer blames various problems causing safety switches to shut off system. This has all happened in a matter of 5 weeks since install. Is the installer or system to blame?
I would think that most units are made to be dependable I think that it all comes down to who does the install and are they a good installer.
100%
Bought a 5 year old house in june which came with lennox hvac system. Immediately had problems with unit. Just had ro replace coils which even with the insurance coverage cost over$700. Called Lennox ,as I had read that there were all sorts of recalls, lawsuits etc. They were of no help. Whenever we need to replace unit, it WILL NOT be alennox
The installer did a great job, just too bad the equipment is junk. Found out Lenox had lots of problems with this model and did nothing about it. 3 1/2 years old and replaced coils and fan motor already. The capacitor outside sounds like it’s ready to go also. What good is a warranty when you still have the payment service company to install parts at $$$hundreds of dollars. My suggestion would be to look elsewhere. Lenox is just living off past reputation now. Absolute junk
We purchased our Lennox A/C unit in 2015. We have already replaced a damper, control board, and just got a $700 quote to fix a leak in the evap. coil. I would not recommend this product. I called the company to see if they would help us with the fees to replace the coil and they will only cover the part but not the labor to replace their faulty part. Terrible customer service.
I have to say my current Lennox A/C was installed April 1998, and until a week ago, worked effectively to whole time. The only part ever replaced was the condenser. I had yearly routine checkups performed, and have been happy with its performance. I would not consider my Lennox “junk”
We built out house 2 years ago and purchased 3 Lennox elite units. In the past 2 years we have replaced:
1 condenser
1 cooling coil
1 circuit board
1 variable speed motor module
1 TXV module
The quality is just not in Lennox products
June 9, 2018 I had a Lennox air conditioner installed to the tune of 8800.00 dollars. Exactly 2 years after it was installed it started acting up. Lennox will replace the parts but then you have to pay someone labor costs to fix it. My installer has tried for 4 days now to get it working and nothing. So after paying 8800.00 and 600.00 for labor I still don’t have a working air conditioner. Someone told me Lennox wasn’t good and I should have listened to them. This unit stinks!!
Bought a 5 ton Lennox A/C in 6/2008. Have had to replace the compressor, the outside colis, the inside evaporator coils and the inside fan. I’ve had numerous service calls do to leaks. After several years the inside of the fan cabinet is rusting badly. Don’t not buy Lennox products, Absolute junk.
I’ve had a Lennox air conditioner for 5 years now and it has performed well except for once a few summers before when a circuit board went out. The tech came out and made the fix and we were up and running again. It was under warranty but we still had to pay for labor. Cost us about $200.00 for the fix. My mother has a Lennox in her home and she loves it. I ould give Lennox a perfect 10 if it wasn’t for the problem we had with the circuit board. I give it a 9 and recommend Lennox to others.

Lennox Quality, NOT
Four Years ago we replaced our zoned A/C and Furnaces with Lennox. Searched many web sites and reviews. Lennox Quality won out. In the years since, these units have each failed each year. Always something with a part, now an A-Coil has failed. Of course, the parts are warranty, but the labor is not. Lennox is not the quality manufacturer it once was. I will never purchase this junk again. I would replace the units, but at $6,000 a pop, will have to pay the annual $1,000 Repair fees.
