The location of the EAC is in the return air ductwork. It is upstream of the cooling coil and the air handler in the air stream. The Aprilaire EAC works much the same way the Honeywell works described above. When its time to clean the filter, you pop it out, wash it using recommended methods, and replace it. Simple as that, except don’t forget to turn the power off before removing the filtering media.
