From my perspective, I would say they make a quality product even though the brand name is not well known or as popular as other name brands. While all systems do eventually break down, I have not seen ArcoAire units breaking down more than others or having outstanding issues more than others.
Of course, every manufacturer makes a lemon from to time, however, I have seen this with ArcoAire. If you get a good price on the installation from a qualified contractor I would say it is likely a good buy.

A dual fuel heat pump is a heat pump with a gas furnace for backup heating rather than electric heat strips.
Air source heat pumps have a backup heating source. In most installations, the backup heating source is electric heat strips. Electric heat strips are very cheap to install in most cases. However, while electricity is generally regarded as 100% efficient, producing it is more costly than other heating methods. For a more efficient heat pump, consider a dual fuel heat pump, or a heat pump with a gas furnace for the backup heat source. It will be more costly to install, but your monthly bills will be reduced.

Always remember, with any type of equipment or brand name you need to match the indoor system with the outdoor system to achieve the rated efficiency listed on the equipment. Purchasing the top-tier system condenser will not get you the rated efficiency unless you have the matching top-tier system inside as well.
ArcoAire lists something called SmartSense on their website but does not explain what exactly SmartSense is or how it benefits the consumer. Perhaps a good question for the salesman or contractor before you buy. ArcoAire offers a quality product, however, always ensure it is properly installed by a competent contractor.
