Warranties

Trane has different warranties for different equipment. Some important notes about any HVAC warranty for any equipment. Most HVAC manufacturers only offer a limited parts warranty. This means, under warranty, you will have to pay for labor if something goes wrong. We always recommend you purchase the additional labor warranty if available. This is especially true if you purchase premium models. They are more complex and will require a skilled technician for troubleshooting the problem. Another important point for warranties is heat exchangers. Many manufacturers give either a 20-year or lifetime limited warranty on heat exchangers. Read all the fine print and make sure to register the warranty within the time frame required by the manufacturer.

Trane History

In 1910 James Trane and his son Reuben began manufacturing a low-pressure heating system to heat homes. They have a long history of innovation dating back to its founder and his son including changing the concept of air conditioning for large buildings when in 1938 they introduced the Turbovac which was the HVAC industry’s first hermetic centrifugal refrigeration machine.

A Trane gas furnace can be integrated easily with a Trane central air conditioner system offering you home comfort for all seasons. Likewise, a high-efficiency gas furnace will save energy lowering operating costs and utility bills. As a homeowner, it is very important to hire a good HVAC contractor to install your new furnace for your home.

Questions from our readers:

Is Trane a Good Furnace?
In my opinion, Trane does make a quality product. They are also one of the top manufacturers with a large distribution network, dealer training programs, and a large presence in the commercial HVAC sector. The benefit to the consumer for that is the dealer training programs. A factory-trained technician has an advantage over a technician who does not have that training. They know the equipment and how Trane systems operate and function.

Of course, with any brand, the best decision you can make is selecting a reliable, quality contractor. The contractor over the brand is the idiom to abide by.
