Mixed HVAC Requirement 2 Weeks, 1 Day ago Karma: 0
We are building an single storey 1600 sq ft ICF home with a walk-out _base_ment in North Bay, ON. Also, we are getting a professional HAVC design done to provide to the contractors.

My question is:

Is there a "best practice" for the situation where there is hydronic in the _base_ment slab, forced air on the main floor, air conditioning and ventilation throughout? Also, we need domestic hot water.

We are going for efficiency at reasonable cost. We have natural gas available. Also, geothermal is not an option due to the amount of rock on our lot and lack of local resources to do drilling.

One suggestion we have gotten is to go to a combination unit like one of Triangle Tube's products.

Thanks.
