Heat Pump Reviews - Consumer RatingsWelcome to the heat pump reviews listing page where we offer a comprehensive list along with links to our individual heat pump reviews. We review each manufacturers heat pumps and offer the links here. If you don’t see a particular model not listed please let us know and we will do our best to give you a technical review of the product you wish us to review. If you look at the list you may see some manufacturers listed several times. In this case it means we have reviews a particular model within that manufacturers line up of available models.

We try to distinguish the various models on this page and separate them to avoid confusion however we do get emails sometimes because someone does get confused by our listings of similar models.

In our reviews we try to offer you a technical review of the manufacturers description of the equipment in their sales literature. Some manufacturers will name something different than others to try and stand out from the rest of the crowd. We understand this is a sales strategy so they can sell more of their product however we do try to help you, as the end consumer, wade through all this so you can understand that one manufacturers widget is the same as the other manufacturers widget. If you have any questions about any particular feature of any HVAC brand please do not hesitate to email us for help.

  1. I’m starting from scratch needing a central heat/air system in a 60 yr. old single story house, about 1160 sq. ft. with crawl and attic space. I have both gas and electric connections and have double pane windows. I need the new unit/system to be quiet, whether on the roof or outside my bedroom window. Is the location of the unit, roof or attic, important? I live in central California so have hot summers. Do you have a recommendation on a size and brand of unit which would be best for me? I currently use a gas floor furnace for heat and a window AC for cooling and am ready to update. Any help would be great. Thanks

    1. A minisplit ductless heat pump system sounds to be your best bet for what you are seeking. Your local HVAC contractor can help you find the best type of minisplit system for your house. Minisplits are extremely quiet and if you select the invertor duty minisplit heat pump you will save in the power bill.
