Maytag package units can be purchased in a variety configurations including heat pump with gas back up heat also known as a hybrid, air conditioner package units with gas furnaces also known as a gas pack, air conditioner package units with optional electric heat, and heat pump package units. Maytag primarily produces package units for residential and light commercial applications. Various features of selected Maytag package units include:




  • Selected Maytag package units are Energy Star rated

  • Selected Maytag package units come with 12 year limited parts warranties with option 12 year labor warranties

  • Two-stage compressor in select Maytag package units

  • Variable speed blower motors in select Mayatg package units

  • Cabinet and drain pan engineered for rust and corrosion prevention in Maytag package units


Maytag began in 1893 as a farm implement manufacturer and later moved into making washing machines which they are famous for when in 1907 Fred Maytag decided to make washing machines. In 1970's the Maytag man came on Maytag television commercials and in 1974 Maytag introduced their very first automatic washing machine. Maytag now makes many different appliances including HVAC air conditioning and heating systems.
