We should have bought a different brand. We have installed 2 Reliance water heaters in the last 4 years. Our current one was just repaired today. It was only a year old. With the cost of installing and repairing Reliance water heaters we would have been better off buying something else. Do not buy this product. It is very low quality and continually having problems. Next time we will buy a Bradford White that has been recommended by our plumber.

NOT OK !!!!!!

We have rented a hot water heater from Reliance since we moved into our New home built in 2005. It has been replaced 2 times, it has gone down 3 times this year alone. We just called them to tell them that once again in the last 2 months we have no hot water.
This is Saturdau and we have to wait until MODAY to take a shower. It is poor service and the product is less than acceptable. I am so frustrated with this company and their hot water tank!!!!!!! Since when do customers have to wait two full days to get hot water. It is 2009 after all. Not Acceptable!!!!

replacement
written by PEGGY, November 03, 2009
I've had my reliance hot water heater since March 1992. From that time until now, we've replaced the elements 3 times and the thermostats twice. I live in the country with a well that has hard water so I'm thinking that my hot water heater isn't doing all that bad. I've changed the elements/thermostats myself with minimum help. Am preparing to do it all over again as it's not the heater it's the water that goes thru it.
