Goodman Heat Pump Reviews

Goodman offers heat pumps in efficiency ranges from 13 SEER 7.7 HSPF to 16 SEER 9.5 HSPF. Selected Goodman heat pumps utilize the new R-410A Refrigerant while others use R-22. All Goodman heat pumps are run tested before leaving the factory. Features of various Goodman heat pumps are:

Lifetime warranty on the compressor in the higher SEER/HSPF Goodman heat pumps

High-efficiency scroll compressors in selected Goodman heat pumps

Louvered panels protect condenser coils in Goodman heat pumps

High quality sound blanket covers the compressor for noise reduction

All Goodman heat pumps performance and efficiency ratings certified by AHRI

Two-Stage compressors for lower energy use in selected Goodman heat pumps

Goodman was founded in 1954 by HVAC Contractor Harold Goodman in Houston, Texas. Goodman started making flexible air duct and plastic blade registers and later started manufacturing operations to include HVAC equipment including heat pumps. One of Goodmans philosophies is to build HVAC equipment that has high quality at a low cost.

My Goodman system is 15 months old. No problems. Have the unit installed by a knowledgeable contractor and it will last. Its important to have everything replaced (matched set) when installing. My contractor noted several discrepancies with my old system that certainly contributed to its failure.

Purchased and installed in November 2007 by an "authorized" and recommended Goodman contractor. After one year problems galore. Due to the contractor's neglect, Goodman does not honor their warranty. Now compressor blows out and the warranty covers nothing. The new "authorized" contractor (suggested by them) recommends changing the whole unit (about $3600). Would have a cost of over $10,000 in less than 3 years. Would NEVER recommend a Goodman or should I say Badman. Warranty is not worth paper printed on and I think a simian from the local zoo could become a certified contractor with them.

had this goodman ac/heat pump for 3 years and every year have a heating problem with this unit. WOULD NEVER BUY ANOTHER GOODMAN BRAND

Great economical system. I had it put in a year ago and it has been flawless. Would recommend to anyone as long as you have a very good installer put the system in.
