Amana Heat Pump Reviews
Amana offers several heat pumps in the Amana heat pump line-up. Beginning with the Amana 18 SEER 9.5 HSPF ASX18 Heat Pump as the most efficient to the economical 13 SEER 7.7 HSPF Distinctions heat pump. Many heat pumps in the Amana product line use the new R-410-A refrigerant but there are still some of Amanas heat pumps that use R-22 refrigerant. High Performance HVAC does not recommend to consumers to purchase the R-22 air conditioner or heat pump units at this time because of the mandated phase-out of R-22 will begin in 2010. Some of the feature for various Amana Heat Pumps are:
- Certified performance by AHRI
- R-410A is used in selected heat pump units
- Heat pump units are run tested before leaving the factory
- Sound blankets on selected heat pump compressors for quiet operation
- Scrill compressors are used in selected units
- Excellent above average from industry stadard warranties for selected heat pump units
Amana was founded in 1934 in Amana, Iowa by George Foerstner making beverage coolers. Amana started making walk-in coolers for grocery stores and restaurants and continued on making these units until after WW II when they came out with the innovative Radarange which was the first portable countertop microwave oven. Later Amana was acquired by Maytag and now produces HVAC equipment under license from Goodman Manufacturing out of Houston, Texas.
