I purchased the signature series g71p in march of this year (09). The furnace is everything it says it is. This model is very efficient and the company that installed it were great. They took the time to do a j-load calcualtion which shows me they truly install what you need in your square footage. I have no complaints on this model, it is very quiet as well.

We had moved into our house with Lennox Merit series unit in 2002,Model C26-41-1 the very next year 2003, needed to install hard start booster kit (cost $328.00);
By 2004, the contactor was burnt out, replacement $210.00; Then by 2006, A/C was not working properly, technician came and said we didn't need the capacitor, so he took it out for some reason, service cost $150.00; The next year in 2007, A/C again wasn't kicking on properly in the Summer, this time had the conducer motor replaced, total repairs $576.00; On to 2009 Summer, found out there was a capacitor that was in there after all and needed to be replaced, cost $211.00. So far all above was part of the A/C. Then this week, Fall 2009, the furnace motor and blower started to make loud noise, repair estimate: $1146.00. The funny thing is the repair guy said we'll be better off replacing the entire furnace at this point because it will start to go after a little while. I told him we have had a bad taste for Lennox by now. Thanks, but no thanks!

I bought a Lennox mmodel CR 26-41-1, and have had nothing but problems from the beginning.

After doing some research, I find that many consumers are experiencing the same problem I have: The furnace fails to ignite properly.

After having my furnace looked at several times, servicemen say they find no problem. I have replaced 4 thermostats, thinking it was a thermostat problem.

After doing my research, it is apparent to me that Lennox furnaces have some type of defect with the ignition mechanism.

I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LENNOX!

Lennox heating unit purchased in 2006 is TERRIBLE,

Our Lennox was purchased to replace an old unit in 2006. The motor failed one DAY before the 3 year warrenty expired and it cost us $400 to replace, for the labor. THIS is outragous! Now the control board has failed, we are forced to hire another repair person, and this has caused our air-conditioning unit to not work until the faulty control board is fixed. WE will never purchase or recommend Lennox to anoone again. We have no idea what our final cost to fix a 2006 unit, which should have been good for at least 20 years will cost. WE will file complaints with Lennox. Meantime we are hot, ill and VERY unhappy with this company. Wish we had found the rating of 3 for reliablity and installation before our purchase. Please don't make the same mistake we made. I got the name of the company from a neighbor who works with Lennox and I'm really sorry I ever trusted this company.

Gas LENNOX home heaters problems
written by carlie, October 22, 2009
Our 2006 gas Lennox home heater is a disaster. The motor broke ONE day before the 3 year warrenty, costing us $400 in labor. Now, months later the control panel has caused our air-conditioning unit to stop working. We have another repair person, not Lennox, since we no loner trust them, to come try to fix it tomorrow. WE fear it will cost us a huge amount to cure a LENNOX problem. We are really sorry we bought this unit. The old YORK one lasted 17 years with NO repair problems, and we had been told that LENNOX was better. This is a nightmare. Don't make the same costly mistake.
