I bought a house in Butternut Wi in 2001. It had a GV-5 Weil Mclain boiler in it. I have spent close to $2000.00 on repairs of this money pit. The things that have went bad on it are the boiler section, blower, circuit board, transformer, igniter. stainless steel burner, and the pressure switch. The only part that has not been changed is the pump. I have just gotten another bill from Wollermans Inc. for $359.22 . Shame on Weil Mclain.

Weil McLain Ultra Boilers are Not Reliable
written by Larry, December 04, 2009
I had an Ultra 230 installed in Nov 2003 and it has been nothing but problems. It shut down repeatedly in winter. Fortunately I was home to turn it back on before the pipes froze. The heat exchanger started leaking 5 years and 2 months after install. Weil McLain customer service is atrocious. They would rather put blinders on and deny there are any problems than properly address the problems.
