Adams Manufacturing Company is one of the few companies that specialize in oil furnace manufacturing. These oil furnaces are condensing furnaces and many manufacturers shy away from producing a condensing oil furnace for a few good reasons. A condensing furnace whether it is gas or oil produces highly corrosive vapor. This vapor corrodes metal and many heat exchangers are made of metal. An oil furnace, if not properly tuned, will produce soot and lots of soot. This is basically unburned fuel and it is very dirty. Combined with the corrosiveness of the condensing furnace vapors this soot can sit inside the exchanger and corrode it over time.  In a factory witness test Adams claims to have overcome this problem by using a special type of metal for the heat exchanger that resists the corrosive effects that can lead to premature heat exchanger failure.
