Adamas Oil Furnace

Adams Manufacturing Company is one of the few companies that specialize in oil furnace manufacturing. Adams claims to have the worlds most efficient oil furnace and it has been observe that the oil furnaces get up to 99 percent efficiency using state of the art test equipment on factory tuned equipment. These oil furnaces are condensing furnaces and many manufacturers shy away from producing a condensing oil furnace for a few good reasons. A condensing furnace whether it is gas or oil produces highly corrosive vapor. This vapor corrodes metal and many heat exchangers are made of metal. An oil furnace, if not properly tuned, will produce soot and lots of soot. This is basically unburned fuel and it is very dirty. Combined with the corrosiveness of the condensing furnace vapors this soot can sit inside the exchanger and corrode it over time.  In a factory witness test Adams claims to have overcome this problem by using a special type of metal for the heat exchanger that resists the corrosive effects that can lead to premature heat exchanger failure. Overall, Adams knows the business of building a solid oil furnace so oil furnace ratings and oil furnace reviews are kind to Adams Manufacturing.

Adams does offer a good training program for their dealers by sending factory representatives to the dealers for training and many of the dealers are seasoned oil dealers meaning they have a very competent staff of oil furnace technicians to install and service Adams oil furnaces.

Adams produces many different types of forced air oil furnaces from upflow, downflow, lowboy & highboy, and counterflow. Sizes range from 50,000 BTU (for residential) through 1,000,000 BTU’s for commercial applications.

Adams also produces Infrared Heaters, Unit Heaters, Gas Furnaces, Gas Burners, Oil Burners, Air Cleaners, and Humidifiers.

Seems like it has good efficiency but what about the problems with the soot and corrosive effects on the unit?

iamrichard, Have you even read the article? It states that they use a special metal to resist corrosion.

I love this furnace! I can see a difference in fuel usage already! I haven’t had it long enough to rate reliability, but with a company with their experience, I don’t see how this will be a problem. This runs as quiet as a kitten. A lot better than old 22 year old oil furnace. That baby had a drinking problem! This furnace sips the oil!
